The Panama Canal

The issue for this political cartoon is the Roosevelt corollary. The message of this political cartoon is that Roosevelt would fight to make this canal possible. There could be another opinion that Roosevelt would just ignore and would make the Panama canal either way. There are two techniques used in this cartoon, they are exaggerated and symbolism. The reason I say exaggerated is well, Teddy Roosevelt is literally fifty times bigger than the guy beside him. The reason I say symbolism is because of what is behind him. I believe those could be the Roosevelt corollary. so this really does go with American Imperialism a lot.
